Where arts meet community

APAX: The Austin Performing Arts Complex was built to celebrate and support that spirit. More than a set of buildings, APAX is a campus designed to nurture connection, spark imagination, and give every creative voice a place to grow. Here, a rehearsal can turn into a performance, a workshop into a new collaboration, and a simple idea into something extraordinary.

Our story

Austin has never lacked creativity. What it has lacked is space.

For years, dancers, theater groups, educators, and community organizations across Austin have faced the same challenge: finding accessible, professional-quality places to rehearse, perform, teach, and gather. Too often, creative work is limited not by talent or vision, but by the availability of space.

APAX, the Austin Performing Arts & Training Complex, was created to change that.

Rooted in the growth of Central Texas Dance Collaborative and guided by decades of firsthand experience in Austin’s arts community, APAX was designed as a purpose-built campus where training, rehearsal, and live performance can happen in one place. At the heart of the complex is Luxora Theater, a fully adaptable 430-seat venue built to support recitals, concerts, theatrical productions, speaking events, and community gatherings that deserve a stage designed for them.

Together, APAX and Luxora Theater represent a long-term commitment to Austin’s creative future. This campus exists to remove barriers, support artists at every stage, and give the city a true home where creativity can grow, connect, and be shared.
